Far too many individuals are leaving one of their biggest investments exposed to the elements for long periods of time. Extreme temperatures and inclement weather such as rain, snow, and hail — as well as animals can cause damage.

When the time comes to resell this major investment, that minimal daily damage caused by outdoor storage suddenly shows up. Often resulting in hundreds or thousands of dollars in lost resale value.

The best way to protect your vehicle against these issues is by sheltering it in a carport or garage, but many individuals don’t have easy access to these shelters.

If you’re currently parking your car outside, you should consider alternatives to protect your vehicle, and reduce wear and tear.

Here are some reasons why investing in a tensioned fabric carport or portable garage from WeatherPort® Shelter Systems is the right move for people who park their cars outside.

Portable Carports Are Cost-Effective

Unlike a traditional garage, pole barn, or a metal shed, tension fabric carports are often considered temporary buildings; meaning you may not need a building permit to put one up on your property. We recommend that you contact your local city or state building or planning department to determine if a tensioned fabric structure could be used to quickly create a garage structure.

Because most can be put together in at once; if you hire a contractor to assemble the carport, the expense incurred will be minimal. For a fraction of the cost of a garage, you can protect one vehicle (or more) from the potential ravages of outdoor storage and harsh weather in just about any setting, urban or rural.

Whether you need seasonal shelter for your RV or protection for your classic motorcycle; WeatherPort has a carport to meet your needs at a competitive price.

No Expertise Is Required to Install a Portable Carport

Most of our carports come in easy-to-construct. Ready-to-go kits that include everything you’re going to need, precut and sized, with the exception of a few hand tools.

You don’t need an electrician or an engineer to help you put it together like you would for a garage. The ability to follow simple directions and the physical ability to move the parts are all that is required to put together a carport to protect your vehicle from environmental deterioration.

All of our tensioned membrane structures are easy to rapidly install on any level surface, with or without foundations. With less site preparation needed compared to wood, steel buildings, or brick-and-mortar structures, WeatherPort carports and garages offer quicker build times and lower construction costs.

Car Entry Won’t Be a Hassle

There’s nothing worse than climbing into a vehicle on a hot day, after it’s been sitting out in the sun. You can feel like you’re being roasted alive.

Of course, if it’s winter, you’ll probably have frozen fingers before you can scrape all the accumulated ice and snow off the exterior of your vehicle, to say nothing of the snow that inevitably falls inside onto your seat when you reach in to grab your ice brush. Even if it’s only raining, you can end up with a wet seat in a matter of seconds.

Why deal with the misery of numb fingers, a wet seat, or intolerable heat for your whole commute? By protecting your car, you will need less time getting ready, and your commute will be more comfortable!

Portable Carports Move With You

There’s a reason they’re called portable!

If you’re renting, the lack of a garage doesn’t have to be a dealbreaker for an otherwise lovely property. While you’d need permission from a landlord to build a garage, a portable carport can be a semi-permanent structure.

When your tenancy at the property is over, you can disassemble the carport and move it with you, wherever you go.

Say Goodbye to Bird Droppings, Hail Dents, Tree Branch Damage, and Other Debris

With a portable garage protecting your vehicle, you won’t have to worry about debris from nearby trees, inclement weather, or migrating birds making a mess of your vehicle. It will still be clean and dry, protected from the elements and other sources of damaging materials.

WeatherPort Carports Are Extremely Versatile

Not only do our tensioned membrane structures offer rapid installation, easy portability, and industry-leading longevity, they’re also incredibly versatile.

A Jubilee Series structure can be used as a carport can be disassembled, moved, and reassembled as an event tent. All without the need for special tools or equipment.

Our shelters have personal, commercial, and recreational capabilities for vehicles of any style. Whether you’re looking for motorcycle storage, a winter covering for your RV, or simply want to protect that custom auto restoration, our garages or carports are the perfect solution. They’re designed for both visual appeal and long-lasting durability.

Thanks for bringing up the portability feature of carports, I had no idea they were portable! Are there any maintenance requirements for carports that help them last longer? I’ll definitely be looking more into carports if I need my car protected in the future.

It was great to learn that one can say goodbye to bird droppings with a carport! We live on a farm and we park our car right under a tree that is bird infested. Every morning I come out to my windshield covered! I would imagine one wouldn’t have this problem with a carport!

This is a great building product for carports and portable garages! I’m thinking about getting a carport installed so I can store and protect my extra car during the winter.
