Six Reasons to Buy a Swimming Pool Enclosure

Pool winterizing season is just around the corner. Are you ready to transform the centerpiece of your outdoor activities area from a beautiful blue oasis into a half-filled hole in the ground that attracts debris like bugs and dead leaves?

At WeatherPort® Shelter Systems, we’ve got a better solution. By investing in one of our durable, attractive swimming pool enclosures, you can forget about the annual expense and effort that goes into shutting down your pool and reopening it a few months later. With a pool enclosure, you can keep your pool clean, attractive, and swimmable year-round, without having to worry about costly maintenance and ugly pool tarps and covers.

WeatherPort’s swimming pool enclosures are tensioned fabric structures that are fully customizable, quick to set up, and easy to take down. Although our enclosures will offer full coverage and dependable UV-protection, you can also choose from a variety of window, side vent, and door options to really make your pool your own.

The heavy-duty fabric is adaptable to your desired level of temperature control, with customizable levels of insulation as well as optional HVAC installation so you can comfortably swim no matter the outdoor temperature.

Here are a few more benefits of purchasing a swimming pool enclosure from WeatherPort®.

Year-Round Swimming

With a pool enclosure, swimming no longer becomes just a summer activity. Besides, what good is owning a property with a pool if you can only use it part of the time?

With WeatherPort’s customizable insulation, window, and door options, as well as optional HVAC installation, you can have complete temperature control. You can even add a lighting and electric system so that night swimming becomes no issue.

If you own a hotel, resort, or other commercial business with a pool, having it open year-round can be an added draw to customers, giving you a larger return on investment and keeping guests happy.

Whether you have a residential pool, a public pool, or an outdoor swimming area at a resort or hotel, swimming pool enclosures provide sheltered interior environments for year-round swimming.

Increased Safety

With sidewalls, end panels, doors, and windows, pool enclosures provide an increased level of safety and security.

These are ideal structures for parks, hotels, families with children, or pool owners who spend time away from home. Not only will these tensioned fabric structures keep out unwanted debris, but with a ruggedly durable enclosure from WeatherPort, you won’t have to worry about unauthorized visitors or children wandering into your pool.

WeatherPort structures are also engineered to exceed international building codes for wind and snow loads, so you can feel just as safe and secure inside as you would in your own home.

More Privacy

Depending on where you’re located, you might feel uneasy taking a dip if your pool is in plain sight of a busy street or your neighbor’s house.

WeatherPort tensioned membranes prevent the prying eyes of nosy neighbors and passersby from watching you when you swim. You can customize the amount of windows, doors, and ventilation flaps so that you can still allow daylight in while keeping your privacy a top priority.

Cleaner Water

Adding a pool enclosure to your property will help keep your water clean and ready to enjoy. Durable pool enclosure fabric structures from WeatherPort keep out leaves, insects, and other debris from falling into your pool and dirtying up the water.

This cuts down on the amount of time and energy you have to spend on heavy-duty pool cleaning, and provides a pretty pristine swimming environment year-round.

Reduced Chemical Use

Sunlight’s UV rays burn off chlorine in your pool water, forcing you to add more expensive chemicals for safe swimming. WeatherPort membranes block UV rays and help you save money that would be spent on chemicals. Additionally, pool enclosures keep debris and bugs from falling into the water, which maintains the water’s chemistry more consistently.

Remember, regularly check your water pH and chlorine levels. The CDC recommends a pH of 7.2 to 7.8 and a free chlorine concentration of at least 1 ppm in pools and at least 3 ppm in hot tubs/spas.

Lower Maintenance Costs

In addition to reduced chemical use and therefore lower water maintenance costs, swimming pool enclosures can save you money on other maintenance expenses, such as general cleaning, replacing faded or ripped liners, and balancing pH levels.

Installing a swimming pool enclosure is meant for lowering your pool maintenance cost. It prevents dust, leaves, insects and other kinds of debris. It makes your water clean throughout the year. It also maintains privacy and offers more safety and security. Due to the enclosure, there is a less requirement of chlorine as the pool does not get enough ultraviolet rays of the sun. So, you don’t have to add chemicals in the pool frequently, which could help you save money.

It is nice to know that pool enclosures can help keep your pool free from insects, leaves, and debris so you can save time on achieving a pristine swimming environment. My husband and I recently had a swimming pool installed in our property. We have had to spend a lot of our time cleaning the pool every morning, so we’ll be sure to consider installing a pool enclosure soon.

I like how you mentioned that by having a pool enclosure, you can use your pool year-round and how it helps to protect against the weather! My children love to swim, and they want to swim in our pool during the winter. A WeatherPort pool enclosure looks like an excellent alternative to winterizing our pool. I will discuss the idea with my husband and then reach out to you about enclosing our pool.

Do you make enclosures for an above-ground pool? I have a round 24’ pool that I would like to enclose and use year-round. We normally winterize our pool mid-September and then dewinterize it in April or May the following year. That is 7 or 8 months of the year we can’t use it! Are your pool enclosure kits something we can buy and install ourselves?

    • August 9, 2021 at 1:35 pm
